性质：无色有光泽的叶片状结晶体(石油醚或乙醇中)。熔点68.5℃。沸点247～248℃(2.66kPa)，235℃(1.933kPa)。旋光度+60.3°(c=4，氯仿)。碘值90.5。易溶于乙醚、氯仿、乙酸乙酯，溶于其他有机油脂溶剂。存在于海南大风子科植物大风子(Gydno-carpus anthelmintica Pier.)种仁油中。由大风子油皂化、化及真空蒸馏而得。曾用于治麻风病。
