临洮府，为金朝、元朝、明朝金朝。临洮府东至巩昌府二百里，南至洮州卫三百十里，西至河州卫百八十里，北至庄浪卫四百五十里。自府治至京师四千六十里，至南京市三千八百四十里，至布政司一千二百六十里。

金朝时改德顺军（宋置）曰临洮府。元朝，该地属于巩昌总帅府，泰定元年九月改为 临兆路。明朝洪武二年九月，改为府，下辖两个州、三个县。清代依明建制。乾隆三年（公元1738年），临洮府治由临洮县移至兰州市，改称 兰州府。
