(瓢虫科 /盔唇瓢虫亚科 )体长3.2-4.7mm，体色黑色光亮，前胸背板隆突，外缘具不明的刻点，触角短，翅鞘中央各有一枚红色的小斑点，外观近似赤星瓢虫Lemnia saucia 雄虫但本种体型及红斑都较小，普遍分布低中海拔山区，栖息量不多，以1000公尺左右山区较多见，成虫、幼虫皆以蚜虫、介壳虫、飞等为食，曾见於栖地有大量的族群出现。?
