刘西梅，女，1963年12月生，副研究员。 1986年毕业于青海师范大学，1986年7月至1993年7月青海省海南藏族自治州中学教生物，同年调入湖北省畜牧兽医研究所动物生物技术研究室工作，主要从事动物生物技术研究。
