象鼻虫科(象鼻虫科)一些体粗壮的昆虫的俗称。其中最知名的是梅锥象甲(Plum curculio)，为害梅、苹果、桃等果树。长约5公釐(0.2)，背上有两个隆起。

外形特征

灰褐色，形似毛虫粪便，因而能躲过天敌。成虫在垃圾堆中越冬，春季雌体在果实上钻洞产卵，还在每个洞旁作一个新月形切口。幼虫在水果内取食3∼5周後爬出，在土中化蛹，蛹期约一个月。锥象甲并非都为害水果，如胡桃属锥象甲(Conotrachelus juglandis)则取食胡桃。
