沃氏翼手喙龙（Pterorhynchus wellnhoferi）犹他州布兰丁恐龙 博物馆（The Dinosaur Museum of Blanding）的馆长斯特芬•柯瑞克斯（STEPHEN A. CZERKAS）和中国地质博物馆的季强在布兰丁恐龙博物馆杂志发表了该论文。

化石发现于辽宁省西部，作为喙嘴龙科（喙嘴翼龙科）的新属新种，化石被命名为沃氏翼手喙龙（Pterorhynchus wellnhoferi），种名沃氏，献给著名翼龙学家Peter Wellnhofer。翼手喙龙有较长的尾巴，是热河省动物群中唯一长尾翼龙的代表。
