旋尾目，身体细长，中等大小，尾部盘曲，故名旋尾虫，成虫寄生于脊椎动物的消化道及呼吸道中，中间寄主为节肢动物门，如棘颚口线虫，寄生于猫、犬体内。

特征

身体细长，中等大小，尾部盘曲，故名旋尾虫，头部具两个侧唇（或4个或更多的唇），口囊角质化，或具齿，交合刺不等长。

成虫寄生于脊椎动物的消化道及呼吸道中，中间寄主为节肢动物，如棘颚口线虫（Gnathostoma），寄生于猫、犬体内。
