会仙桥是仿造少数民族侗族的风雨桥造的。它的前身是无锡颇有名气的惠山“大德桥”，五十年代末，因开挖京杭大运河无锡段的新运河，拆迁于此。

桥上有两副对联“过此桥是玉虚境，到彼岸非本来我”；“道是非天非地路，果真亦仙亦凡桥”。意为此桥是仙凡相会的纽带，到了桥那边就渐入仙境，游客也不再是原来凡间的我，而变为渐入仙境的我。
