海马旁回(parahippocompalgyrus）位于枕叶和颞叶下方的内侧，其前端向后弯曲，称钩（uncus）。海马旁回、钩与扣带回在半球内构成穹窿状脑回，称穹窿回。在海马旁回外侧，部分皮质卷入侧脑室下角内，形成海马（hippocampus）。在海马内侧有一呈锯齿状的窄条灰质，称齿状回（dentategyrus）。海马汽车和齿状回合称海马结构hiPPocamPalformation）。
