中华大学，北京市大学曾用名，1927－1929年间，北京大学处于动荡之中，并遭到严重摧残奉系军阀攫取北京政权后，于1927年悍然宣布取消北大，与北平市其他八所国立大学合并为京师大学校。

1928年南京国民政府先将其改为中华大学，复改为北平大学，复改为国立北平大学北大学院。1929年北大宣布自行复校，国民政府于8月6日恢复国立北京大学。
