平金村地处贵州省东南部锦屏县城东郊。东依乌坡村，南接银洞村，西邻排洞社区，北抵亮江村，靖（州）锦（屏）公路穿村而过，交通便利。

全村4个村民小组，共174户，总人口642人，其中：农业户122户，522人，业户50户，非农业人口120人；有中共党员29人，村支两委干部8人。辖区总面积4050亩，耕地面积144亩，农田面积133亩，旱地面积11亩，水面120亩。林地面积3700多亩，主要以种植、养殖和饮食报务、交通运输产业为主。
