和川县，北魏建义元年(528)置，属义宁郡。元至元四年(1267)并入岳阳县，故治在今山西安泽县北和川镇。

基本介绍

隋开皇十八年(598)改义宁县为和川县，属于晋州。大业三年（607）并入沁源县。

唐武德二年(619)复置，属沁州。太平兴国六年（981）沁州废，改属晋州;

宋熙宁五年(1072)并入冀氏县，元祐元年(1086)复置。仍隶属于晋州(1116升为平阳府) ，
