旧称沃伦蒂尔岛(Volunteer Island)。

太平洋西南部中、南莱恩群鸟(Central and Southern Line Islands)的永乐环礁。在檀香山以南3,200公里(2,000哩)。海拔仅5公尺(15呎)。陆地面积21平方公里(8平方哩)。所环潟湖长9公里(5.5哩)，宽3公里(2哩)。1856年美国宣布对该岛拥有主权。1866年为英国兼并。1979年归新独立的基里巴斯。现无人居住。
