武陵县是湖北竹溪县的古称。西汉置，属汉中郡，治所在今湖北竹溪县东、竹山县西北。

东汉并入上庸（今湖北竹山县），曹魏复置，属上庸郡，南梁又废，唐武德元年（618年）又复置，属房州（今房县），贞观十年（636年）撤销，并入竹山县。
