公众瞭解陈翠梅是从她的第一部剧情长片《用爱征服一切》，但是大家却忘了她是个多产的短片作者，已经在业界获得了俩个重要奖项.

2008年，在筹备她的第二部长片时，陈翠梅决定每个月拍摄一部短片，但最终只拍成了7部短片。她做成了短篇集，叫《我的失败作》。
